Peebles is a small
market town situated in the beautiful Tweed Valley.
Edinburgh is just 25 miles to the north and Galashiels
only 19 miles to the south.

There are a number of forest and hill walks to be enjoyed
in the immediate area, including Glentress Forest just
across the road, famous for mountain biking, and sights
such as Neidpath Castle set on a dramatic location above
the Tweed just to the north of Peebles.

The Cardrona Golf and Country Club is just a mile and a
half away. Salmon and trout fishing (in season) as well as
horse-riding are practically on the doorstep.
Traquair House, close by, is said to be the oldest
inhabited house in Scotland and has, amongst other
interests, its own brewery.
St Mary’s Loch is just 16 miles away with the breathtaking
waterfall, the Grey Mare’s Tail, just beyond it.
